Furniture shoppers need to judge proportion, finish and suitability before committing to a large delivery. A store can look impressive in a room photograph yet become difficult to use when a customer compares dimensions, chooses a fabric or checks a delivery restriction on a phone. The theme decision should begin with that product journey.
Furnicom, Porto and Argento are three distinct Magento theme products that can be shortlisted for a furniture and interiors catalog. Furnicom is furniture-focused; Porto and Argento offer broader storefront systems that require a more deliberate furniture presentation. Their homepage demos are layouts within their respective products, not additional themes in this comparison.
Official listings, documentation, plans and licensing sources were checked on October 22, 2026. This is a research-based comparison, without installations, speed tests or conversion measurements. Furniture-specific suitability below is editorial reasoning from the documented building blocks, not a claim that every furniture workflow is bundled.
What makes a furniture storefront different?
Begin with three kinds of content: room scenes that create context, clean product images that expose detail, and structured specifications that answer practical questions. A buyer should be able to move between them without losing the selected finish or size. Menu depth and banners matter less if the product page hides the information required to decide.
Make a sample product unusually demanding: a sofa with several fabrics, two widths, downloadable care instructions and a restricted delivery area. None of the three themes should be assumed to provide bespoke freight quoting, augmented reality, swatch fulfillment or made-to-order logic. Those are separate requirements whose extensions need to fit the chosen storefront.
| Theme | Furniture-store fit | Compatibility evidence | Observed license cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Furnicom | Furniture-oriented layouts and bundled SM merchandising modules | Version 6.0.0 lists Magento 2.4.9; Commerce/PHP specifics require confirmation | $64 Regular License; six months of support |
| Porto | Broader presentation options for mixed furniture and home-accessory ranges | Version 5.2.0 lists 2.4.9 changes; Enterprise compatibility advertised | $129 Regular License; six months of support |
| Argento | A modular package with a documented Home design and product-information tools | Open Source 2.4.4–2.4.9; Commerce 2.4.7/2.4.8 shown on product page | Quarterly $207 or yearly $588 plan; up to ten installations stated |
USD observations exclude unconfirmed taxes and services. Support extensions, implementation and separate module licenses can change the total. These are commercial theme offers; no free edition of these three selected products was verified.
Furnicom
Furnicom provides the most direct furniture starting point. Magentech’s listing describes ten homepage layouts for furniture and interior stores, together with image sliders, static content blocks, product filtering, quick view and Ajax cart functions. That can reduce the amount of initial visual assembly when your catalog closely matches the intended presentation.
The package includes a theme installation option and a QuickStart package with modules and sample data. For an established shop, ask the implementer to separate the theme and required modules from demonstration content. Importing a demo should never be treated as a harmless styling operation on a live catalog.
Version 6.0.0, dated July 21, 2026, explicitly adds Magento 2.4.9 compatibility. The listing also contains a long historical Magento 1/2 version list. Do not treat that as proof of every current Adobe Commerce patch or PHP runtime. The storefront includes vendor modules, and Hyvä, Luma inheritance details, PWA support and a required builder were not established as universal guarantees.
The observed Regular License is $64 with future updates and six months of support; the displayed extension to twelve months was $18.38, subject to checkout conditions. Strength: a furniture-focused visual starting point. Limitation: the exact bundle must be maintained as a system. Ask which SM modules remain necessary when unused demo features are removed and who resolves a conflict with your configurable-product or freight extension.
Porto
Porto is a broader choice for a merchant selling furniture alongside lighting, textiles and accessories. Its theme settings, product-list layouts and Pagebuilder-related widgets provide different ways to assemble category and campaign pages. The useful question is whether those options let your content team maintain consistent room collections without creating a different shopping pattern on every page.
The current listing shows version 5.2.0, dated August 24, 2026, with Magento 2.4.9 compatibility work and an updated QuickStart package. It advertises Magento Enterprise compatibility, but you should still confirm the exact Adobe Commerce patch, PHP version and enabled Commerce modules. A broad Enterprise label does not settle a customized B2B or checkout implementation.
Porto’s documented bundle and update history include search and layered-navigation components. Inventory those before adding another extension for the same function. Ask the developer which theme modules, widgets and Magento Pagebuilder facilities are required for the chosen design, and keep customizations in a maintainable child theme. Hyvä or PWA support should not be inferred from responsive styling.
The observed Regular License is $129, including future updates and six months of support; twelve-month support extension was displayed at $42.75. Strength: presentation flexibility across a mixed home catalog. Limitation: abundant layout choices create more configuration to govern. Standardize product-page information, image proportions and mobile controls before building a large collection of campaign pages.
Argento
Argento offers a package-oriented approach backed by Swissup’s extension documentation. The Magento 2 docs include a Home design alongside components such as EasyTabs, Featured Attributes, Hover Gallery, Navigation Pro and Sold Together. Those building blocks are relevant to furniture specifications, alternative views and complementary pieces, provided the selected edition includes the required modules.
Architecture must be selected explicitly. Swissup maintains separate documentation paths for traditional Magento Argento, Breeze-based Argento and Hyvä-based Argento. These are not interchangeable installation instructions. Decide which package you are quoting, what base theme or compatibility layer it uses, and whether your existing extensions support that exact route. A Hyvä-based choice also requires confirmation of the underlying Hyvä entitlement.
The product page lists Magento Open Source 2.4.4–2.4.9 and Adobe Commerce 2.4.7/2.4.8. Commerce 2.4.9 and a complete PHP matrix were not verified. The traditional Magento 2 changelog shows 1.54.1 on October 8, 2026, including bundled-module security and image-delivery corrections. Its version number differs from the broad product-page headline, so use package-specific release evidence.
The plans page explicitly includes Argento in the $207 quarterly and $588 yearly subscriptions, with support/updates for the purchased period and use on ten separate Magento installations. It states continued use after cancellation; verify renewal and exact package coverage. Strength: documented product-information modules and deployment choices. Limitation: choosing the architecture and maintaining the module collection remain implementation work, even when the commercial bundle is convenient.
Use a furniture acceptance page, not a demo score
Put the same room image, isolated product photograph and fabric swatches into each candidate. Include a long product name, both metric and imperial dimensions, care information and a delivery caveat. On a phone, check whether the selected fabric remains clear when the buyer opens another image or reads a specification tab.
Then compare a category page containing tall lamps, wide sofas and small accessories. Their very different silhouettes expose poor cropping and inconsistent card heights. Verify that filters distinguish meaningful attributes such as material and width rather than simply copying the demo’s labels. Our layered navigation comparison covers the extension decision separately.
These are recommended acceptance checks, not measured findings about the themes. Assess image quality, keyboard operation, readable dimensions, variant errors and checkout continuity with your real content. No marketplace speed claim establishes the performance of your completed furniture store.
Licensing, dependencies and ongoing cost
Envato’s Regular License covers one end product for you or one client. Selling furniture is not itself a reason to buy an Extended License, but independent stores and deployment arrangements should be clarified with the licensor. Do not equate one Magento installation containing several websites with an automatic right to create unrelated stores.
For Furnicom and Porto, future updates and the support period are separate promises. Support renewal prices can change and customization is not generally the same service as fixing an included feature. For Argento, compare the recurring plan and its installation allowance with the actual number of stores you operate. Request a three-year estimate including PHP/Magento upgrades and every required module or builder.
If bulky-item shipping is part of the redesign, pair the visual evaluation with our shipping table rates comparison. The theme’s cart must present the resulting delivery charges clearly, but the theme alone does not calculate your freight policy.
Which theme suits your furniture project?
Shortlist Furnicom when its furniture-oriented composition matches your content, Porto when you need flexible presentation across a broader home range, and Argento when its documented modules and architecture choices fit your maintenance team. The deciding evidence should be a working furniture acceptance page and a precise package/compatibility quote. Choose the system your team can keep clear, consistent and current.
