Market vs Infinit vs Athlete2

Compare Market, Infinit and Athlete2 for multi-department Magento stores: menus, bundled modules, builders, exact version checks and license costs.

Three retail display bays for headphones, home furnishings and footwear share an orange architectural canopy.

A store spanning electronics, home goods and apparel needs more than a striking homepage. Customers must understand the departments, compare products with different attributes and navigate a deep catalog on a phone. A packaged Magento theme can supply much of that presentation, but its bundled modules and editing model become long-term dependencies.

Market, Infinit and Athlete2 are three distinct Magento themes considered here for a multi-department retail store. They are separate products from different authors, not three demos of one theme. This documentation-based comparison was researched on October 21, 2026. It makes no measured speed, conversion or universal extension-compatibility claims.

Choose a catalog structure before a demo

A multi-department store needs a consistent navigation system with room for different product information. An electronics category may need dense specifications; a furniture category may need large imagery; apparel may need swatches and size information. A theme should support those differences without making each department feel like a separate website.

Evaluate the menu, category cards, product detail and campaign-editing workflow as a connected system. These are packaged Magento themes, not a promise of Hyvä or PWA compatibility. Confirm exact inheritance and Luma assumptions with the author. A familiar Magento theme file structure, Bootstrap or an AJAX feature does not establish compatibility with a different storefront foundation.

Theme Why evaluate it Compatibility and cost checkpoint
Market Department-store presentation with vertical mega menu, category modules and tabbed listings. Displayed $99; version 10.14 changelog names Magento 2.4.9; Adobe Commerce/PHP need confirmation.
Infinit Codazon page-building and navigation tools for varied category layouts. Displayed $99; listing says Magento 2.4.x but detailed version text is older; obtain exact supported patch.
Athlete2 Strong visual identity with mega menu, grid options and merchandising controls. ThemeForest displayed $161 while author page showed $99; Open Source 2.3.6–2.4.9 listed.

Market

Market is directly positioned for multi-category stores. Its listing describes a vertical mega menu with static blocks, tabbed product listings and category imagery. Those are relevant tools when a large catalog needs several routes into departments rather than a single promotional hero. The theme’s numerous homepage indexes remain layouts within one product, not independent themes.

The principal benefit is a department-store starting point. Its limit is the number of bundled functions that may overlap with an existing store. The Magento 2 package lists SM Mega Menu, SM Tab Listing, SM Categories, SM ShopBy, search and cart modules. Inventory those components before installation and decide which will own filtering, search and cart presentation. Running parallel implementations of the same interface increases integration work.

The 10.14 changelog, dated June 17, 2026, explicitly adds Magento 2.4.9 compatibility, although older feature text still calls 2.4.8 the latest version. Use the versioned package rather than that older summary. A precise PHP matrix and equivalent Adobe Commerce coverage were not established in the reviewed listing. Obtain confirmation for the actual patch and edition, including any B2B or Commerce-specific features your store uses.

The displayed Regular License price is $99. Confirm tax, support extension cost and your production-store count at checkout. Future updates and the usual six-month supported-item period are different entitlements. No Hyvä or PWA implementation was verified; switching to those foundations would require its own supported plan rather than carrying over the theme’s standard templates.

Infinit

Infinit combines a visual page builder, mega menu, product-grid configuration and other merchandising components under Codazon’s theme system. Its documentation separates header, footer, product-list and product-view styles. That is a useful evaluation path for a retailer wanting different department presentations while keeping shared navigation and brand rules.

The advantage is composition flexibility. The limitation is content portability: ask which pages depend on Codazon widgets, templates or builder data and what remains usable if the theme is replaced. Do not assume that the named visual builder is interchangeable with Adobe Commerce Page Builder. An editor should recreate one real category landing page during evaluation, then show how it is translated and maintained across store views.

The marketplace metadata identifies Magento 2.4.x and Magento Enterprise, but the detailed compatibility paragraph still stops at older exact releases, including 2.4.2. The listing was updated in August 2026, yet that date alone does not prove a specific 2.4.9 or PHP combination. Request the current versioned compatibility matrix for Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce before purchase. Exact PHP, Hyvä and PWA support was not confirmed.

The displayed Regular License price is $99, with six months of support and future updates listed. Confirm any additional builder/module licenses and the price to extend or later renew support. Its many demos are design presets of Infinit. Choose one because its underlying tools fit your content workflow, not because the number of presets appears to multiply the license value.

Athlete2

Athlete2 brings a more pronounced retail identity, with a mega menu, configurable grids, sticky header and product/banner sliders. Although its positioning emphasizes sports, those mechanisms can also be evaluated for a department store that needs a consistent, bold presentation. The fit depends on your real categories and imagery; a sports demo does not prove suitability for technical specifications or furniture dimensions.

The author describes a Bootstrap 4-based product and requires Olegnax Core for its themes and extensions. Budget for maintaining that module set alongside your store’s existing functionality. Ask whether the layouts you need rely on additional Olegnax components, and which are included. A bundled slider or quick-view function still needs to work with your product types, accessibility expectations and catalog extensions.

ThemeForest lists Magento Open Source 2.3.6–2.4.9 and version 1.8.3.0, dated August 18, 2026. Equivalent Adobe Commerce and precise PHP coverage were not established. Historical documentation describes default-Magento theme integration, but it is not evidence of a Hyvä or headless port. Get the author to confirm your exact inheritance, checkout and extension matrix.

Pricing needs special care: the author page displays $99 and points purchasing to ThemeForest, while the reviewed marketplace page displays $161 for the Regular License. Treat the current checkout as the authority, not either amount as a guaranteed quote. ThemeForest lists six months of support and future updates; verify the extension/renewal charge. The strength is a distinctive packaged presentation, with price and compatibility confirmation required before commitment.

Test the department-store journey

Use three representative categories from your actual catalog rather than importing an entire demo. Build a deep electronics menu, an image-led home category and an apparel listing with swatches. Give an editor one campaign change to make in each. Record how many templates, widgets and store-view settings they must understand to complete the task.

On mobile, check menu depth, back navigation, long category names and product-card controls. Open a filter, select a swatch, compare products and return from a product detail page. Verify that important product information remains readable with browser zoom. A responsive marketing label does not establish that your particular menu and extensions are usable together.

Before implementation, compare the theme’s included search, filters, labels and cart behavior with the extensions already installed. Retain one clear owner for each function. Review our catalog-filtering comparison and catalog-search comparison when those responsibilities overlap.

Licensing, support and a practical choice

Envato’s Regular License concerns one end product, with a website being the relevant example for a theme. Do not translate that into unlimited independent production stores. Ask how your domains, Magento websites and store views map to the license. Future updates are distinct from support time, and customization or third-party conflict resolution is not automatically covered by item support.

All three are paid themes; included modules are not separately transferable free products. Include child-theme development, content migration, module conflict work and support renewal in the project budget. None has a verified hands-on speed advantage in this review. Use your own catalog and hosting constraints to validate performance later.

Shortlist Market for a department-oriented menu and category-tool starting point. Consider Infinit when its builder and reusable style system match the editorial workflow, conditional on exact version confirmation. Choose Athlete2 when its stronger visual identity fits the catalog and the author confirms the platform requirements. The best choice is the theme your team can maintain across departments after the demo content is gone.
