Argento vs Claue vs Pearl Theme

Compare Argento, Claue and Pearl Theme for Magento retail catalogs: bundled modules, page builders, edition compatibility, licenses and renewals.

Three distinct orange, ivory and brown fashion storefronts with clothing displays on a shared platform.

A fashion or lifestyle retailer can launch a polished homepage and still discover that the theme’s filter, quick view and page builder cannot coexist with its existing modules. For a packaged Magento retail theme, the meaningful comparison is the whole maintainable storefront package: layouts, bundled modules, editing workflow, licensing and upgrade responsibility.

Argento, Claue and Pearl Theme are three distinct Magento theme products. They each offer multiple layouts, but those layouts are not additional products in this comparison. We focus on choosing a packaged theme for a retail catalog with visual merchandising and regular campaign content. Official sources were reviewed on October 20, 2026. We have not installed these themes on a common store or measured their performance.

Compare the package behind the demo

A demo can show what a theme can look like, but it cannot establish the effort required to reproduce that result with your products, translations and extension stack. Ask which modules provide navigation, filtering, cart interaction and content editing. Decide which existing modules they replace and which they must integrate with. More bundled modules are not automatically a lower maintenance cost.

If you are still deciding between storefront foundations, our Hyvä Theme, Breeze Evolution and Porto comparison addresses that broader architectural choice. Here the buying task is narrower: a ready-made retail theme package and its merchandising workflow. Do not combine frontend implementations merely because their vendors advertise Magento compatibility.

Theme Package fit Price and compatibility boundary
Argento Retail layouts with a Swissup module ecosystem and documented customization paths Observed eligible plans: $207 quarterly or $588 yearly; confirm chosen Luma/Breeze/Hyvä implementation
Claue Fashion-oriented layouts and the MGS Frontend Builder workflow Official listing shows $99; Magento 2.4.9 and listed PHP coverage need an exact pairing confirmation
Pearl Theme Configurable retail pages with modular WeltPixel extensions Open Source Essential €499, Professional €999 observed; annual renewal at product price, other editions cost more

Argento

Argento is a theme family with retail layouts and associated Swissup modules. Its official product page lists Magento Open Source 2.4.4–2.4.9, while its Adobe Commerce list names 2.4.7 and 2.4.8. Do not extend the Commerce claim to 2.4.9 simply because Open Source lists it. Recent release notes include PHP 8.5 fixes; confirm the exact theme and module release for your PHP/Magento pairing.

The documentation hub separates the established Magento theme documentation from Breeze-based and Hyvä-based documentation. These are meaningful implementation choices within the product family. Ask which package, layout and compatibility modules your quote includes. A Luma customization or JavaScript extension cannot be assumed to transfer to a Breeze or Hyvä implementation without work.

The current plans page includes Argento in quarterly and yearly subscriptions, observed at $207 for three months and $588 for twelve months of updates and support. The $49 monthly figure shown for the annual plan is an equivalent monthly rate, not a separate monthly Argento purchase. Confirm the next charge and included products at checkout.

Swissup’s terms permit ten separate Magento installations and do not limit store views under the standard license. Its plan description says purchased modules remain usable after cancellation while support/update access follows the paid term. The appeal is a shared ecosystem with documented child-theme customization. The limitation is that choosing the frontend implementation and maintaining its modules still requires technical ownership. A PWA is a separate integration project.

Claue

Claue’s official ThemeForest listing presents a retail theme with multiple homepages and bundled merchandising modules. Its editing workflow uses MGS Frontend Builder, documented by ArrowTheme. The builder activation guide illustrates why this dependency matters: campaign editors need to learn that workflow, rather than assume every layout is edited through Magento’s native Page Builder.

The listing showed $99 and Magento 2.4.9 compatibility, with PHP versions listed through 8.4. That does not establish a supported pairing for every Magento release. In particular, request a written answer for your exact PHP runtime and patch. We did not confirm a separate Adobe Commerce compatibility matrix or a native Hyvä, Breeze or PWA implementation from the reviewed listing. Treat those as open purchase questions, not implied support.

ThemeForest’s license framework distinguishes the license for an end product from ongoing support. Confirm the selected license, production store count, included support period and support-extension price in the purchase panel. Do not interpret many included homepage designs as permission to deploy the theme across unrelated stores. We did not independently verify the final support-renewal amount.

Claue is a reasonable shortlist candidate when its fashion presentation and builder fit the people maintaining the store. Its constraint is dependency overlap: bundled cart, navigation and quick-view behavior must be reconciled with existing extensions. Ask for a module inventory and a supported upgrade path. A low initial item price should be evaluated alongside builder customization, exact-version confirmation and ongoing developer time.

Pearl Theme

Pearl Theme offers Essential and Professional packages, with Magento Open Source, Commerce and Cloud purchase selections. The observed Open Source prices were €499 and €999 respectively. The product page states one year of support and updates and annual renewal at the product price. Commerce and Cloud have higher prices; confirm currency, tax and selection before comparing totals.

The official manual describes Composer installation, theme modules and bundled WeltPixel extensions. It lists Open Source, Commerce and Cloud/B2B coverage through Magento 2.4.9, and its 1.17.0 release notes introduce PHP 8.5 compatibility. Use the latest appropriate maintenance release and verify the exact Magento patch and dependencies. Version compatibility is not evidence that every third-party module works.

The main attraction is a configurable storefront with an associated module package. Essential and Professional are editions of one theme, not two products. Compare their actual extension and service matrix. If an existing installation already has individual WeltPixel modules, the manual warns about duplicate installations. Reconcile Composer packages before adding the theme rather than installing parallel copies of the same functionality.

WeltPixel’s licensing guidance distinguishes licensed production domains from permitted development patterns. Obtain confirmation for the backend and frontend domain structure of your multi-store deployment. Pearl is a Magento theme package, not a Hyvä or PWA migration shortcut. Ask which Luma-based customizations and integrations are supported. The limitation is maintenance breadth: the theme and bundled extensions need coordinated updates, even when you enable only the features your store uses.

Check the merchandising workflow with your own catalog

Give each implementer the same proposed page brief: one category with configurable clothing, swatches, a sale badge and a campaign banner; one product with a size guide; and one mobile landing page. Ask how an editor changes each element and whether the change lives in CMS content, builder configuration, theme settings or custom code. This is a suggested evaluation, not a test performed by Magentrio.

Require a responsibility list for filters, search, checkout, consent, structured data and analytics. Our filter extension comparison can help identify competing navigation ownership. Verify Adobe Commerce customer groups and B2B behavior separately from an Open Source demo.

For performance, evaluate the implemented store with representative imagery and scripts. We do not rank these themes by speed. Plan a supported child theme, predictable content deployment and a rehearsal of the next Magento patch. Budget the initial purchase, renewals, modules, content migration and developer maintenance together; a demo import is only the start of that work.

Which theme fits your retail team?

Consider Argento when the chosen Swissup implementation and multi-installation plan fit your organization. Consider Claue when the retail designs and MGS builder match your editing process, after resolving edition and runtime questions. Consider Pearl when its configuration and bundled WeltPixel package justify the selected edition and annual renewal.

The best fit is the theme your team can edit and upgrade consistently. Choose one actual product and implementation, then verify the exact dependencies rather than treating layout variety as compatibility evidence.
